The British Academy Marrakesh

The overarching vision of The British Academy School Marrakech – BASM - is to bring the best of British Independent School education to Morocco. To help fulfil this vision, and uniquely so to Marrakech, our teachers are recruited having completed their teacher training in the UK. English is their first language, the first language of the school, and the English National Curriculum provides the framework for teaching and learning.

BASM is a young, modern, international school, underpinned by traditional values of respect for the democratic process in its varying forms, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. The school is non-denominational.

We are a family school, by which we mean we want siblings to study together in the same school and to feel equally valued, irrespective of their particular talents, interests or aptitudes, and we want parents to share in that one family school experience.

The British Academy School Marrakech aims to:

  • Provide children with the opportunity to develop to their full potential, academically, emotionally and socially.
  • Provide the highest standard of education to enable children to acquire the skills, knowledge and concepts relevant to their future.
  • Promote an ethos of care, mutual respect and support where effort is valued and success celebrated.
  • Enable children to become active, responsible and caring members of the school and wider community.

The school works towards these aims by:

  • Providing first class leadership
  • Ensure that safeguarding and child protection is a model of excellence.
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining only the very best teachers
  • Maintaining an unrelenting focus on student outcomes
  • Providing

Belong - to a caring supportive community that will encourage you to:

Become - an internationally minded global citizen, ready to embrace all the world has to offer.
